This year, the annual conference of ICEM will take place in Eszterházy Károly Catholic University, Eger, Hungary, October 9-10. Eger, one of Hungary’s most beautiful and historically significant cities, located at the foot of the Bükk Mountains. Eger is renowned for its heroic castle defense, elegant Baroque architecture, vibrant cultural life, thermal baths, and world-famous wines. With its rich heritage and relaxed atmosphere, the city provides an inspiring backdrop for professional and academic exchange.
The host institution, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University, is a key center of higher education and research in the region, with centuries-old traditions. Its iconic main building is one of the city’s architectural landmarks. The university offers an intellectually stimulating environment for learning, innovation, and international collaboration.

If you wish to travel to Eger by train, we recommend taking the 100E Airport Express Bus from the airport to its final stop at “Deák Ferenc Tér” (Deák Ferenc Square).
At Deák Ferenc Square, transfer to the M2 (red) metro line, and travel 3 stops in the direction of “Örs vezér tere”.
Get off at “Keleti Pályaudvar” (Keleti Railway Station).
Direct trains to Eger depart every hour, on the hour (e.g. 10:00, 11:00, etc.).
Travel time: approx. 1 hour 52 minutes

If you prefer to travel to Eger by long-distance coach, take the 100E Airport Express Bus from the airport to “Deák Ferenc Tér” (Deák Ferenc Square).
From there, transfer to the M2 (red) metro line, and travel 4 stops in the direction of “Örs vezér tere”.
Get off at “Puskás Ferenc Stadion” station.
Direct buses to Eger depart at 35 minutes past each hour (e.g. 10:35, 11:35, etc.).

The conference’s plenary sessions will take place in the chapel of the University’s Líceum building (Eszterházy Square 1).
The parallel sessions, lunch, and the dinner on the first day of the conference will be held in Building C (Leányka Street 4).
The two venues are approximately a 15-minute walk from each other, but free shuttle service will be provided for all conference participants.
